This mode of writing was introduced by Swedish missionaries for biblical translation. However, as Ge'ez is the language of the Eritrean Orthodox Tewahdo Church, many Tigre Muslims use the Arabic alphabet."<br /><br />The Swedish missionaries did not introduce Ge'ez as a language or in written/alphabet form to the Eritrea. It is a Semetic language where other dirivitive languages stem from such as Amharic (one of Ethiopia's many languages), Aramaic (Jesus' language) and Hebrew. There are other cultures and languages that have been influenced by or stem from the Eritrean people because the entire coast of Eritrea make it a strategic location for trade and travel.
